‘AKIN’ 16/17 spring/summer collection and website launch

MEDIA RELEASE for EVEM Ltd and their ‘AKIN’ 16/17 spring/summer collection and website launch event.

Who are we? We are a fashion house called EVEM, owned and operated by fashion designers Evie Johnson and Emily Johnson (twins).

EVEM are launching their ‘AKIN’ 16/17 spring summer collection this Saturday August the 27th at 12pm. This will be a fashion parade style photo-shoot which will start at12pm beginning at the Wellington Railway Station and finish at the Civic Square approximately 3pm.

So far we have 6 groups with each group comprising of a model, a photographer, a hair and makeup artist and an assistant. Everyone except the models have been asked to wear black so this promotes focus toward the models and the EVEM garments.

During the photo shoot we will be streaming the event live on Facebook through various pages. This will enable friends, family, fans and the public, who can’t make it to the event, to have an opportunity to join us.

Holding a parade style photo-shoot through the city at various locations allows the public to have a more tangible experience with us. We will be more than happy to engage with anyone that has questions and we will do our best to ensure that there is no offence caused to anyone while respecting the boundaries of other hard working local businesses and the public.

We will also be handing out promotional material. This will be to promote the EVEMcollection but we could not make this happen without the strong involvement of The Fashion Creative whom we are proud members. The Fashion Creative and the members, including ourselves, are completing this event as unpaid volunteers with a passion to support each other in all of our growth processes and for this we are truly thankful. Please feel free to visit the social media links below for more information.

More about the ‘AKIN’ collection name, the vision and the independent business women / company directors that are the driving force for EVEM.

‘AKIN’ - related to by blood. A concept near extinction amongst a civilisation so torn, a contradiction to the very ideology they martyr themselves upon. We are the same in blood.

OUR WOMEN: She represents an international market of daring, fearless, at times controversial women with a timelessly-elegant, fashion-forward attitude. She as a woman demands to stand out against the masses. The EVEM woman challenges the norm; she embraces the everyday world in all its flaws and reflects her own ideology back through her personally curated, high-quality attire. Her wardrobe is her treasure trove for transcendence.

ABOUT EVIE & EMILY: Twin designer creatives who share one vision; a sustainable, ethical, local-wisdom future for the New Zealand fashion industry. It is this mission that drives kiwi born and bred designers Evie and Emily Johnson to restore personal sentimentality towards clothing; a renewed, invested respect towards high quality, high fashion garments. Both Massey University graduates, each with a Bachelor of Design (First Class Honours), these young business women are exceptionally qualified. Collective pieces are designed and crafted locally by skilled specialists. Constructed with the objective to transform the wardrobe into an assortment of carefully-selected, innovative, classical articles which blur the boundaries between everyday wear and couture.
