Early bird tickets - prepare for the future of New Zealand

Media release: Only 36 hours left to snap up early bird tickets and prepare for the future of New Zealand

Leaders of today and tomorrow have until midnight Wednesday 31 August to purchase early bird tickets (a saving of $500) to Australasia’s first exponential technology summit– an event that will change the way we see the world.

Presented by Silicon Valley’s Singularity University, the one-off, three-day Summit will be held in Christchurch 14 to 16 November 2016. It brings together the world’s top speakers on exponentially accelerating technologies, providing leaders of today and tomorrow the knowledge and insight needed to survive and thrive in an exponentially changing world.

CEO of Auckland Tourism Events and Economic Development (ATEED) Brett O’Reily recently attended Singularity University’s executive programme and says he no longer looks at the world as he did before, from both a personal and professional perspective.

“Disruption is everywhere and requires different ways of thinking and reacting. At Singularity University, we heard from the absolute leaders in their fields, about the speed and possibility that is coming our way. I'm excited that some of the same leaders are coming to the Summit in Christchurch so we can hear from them first-hand and start to prepare ourselves for the changes ahead."

This is a rare opportunity to gain insight into the technologically-driven revolution and help New Zealand understand, adapt and thrive.

"These changes in technology affect our economy, our government, our education system, our healthcare system… Every single one of us is impacted by this,” says Kaila Colbin, organiser of the SingularityU New Zealand Summit.

“If you can make milk and meat without using animals, for example, how do we future proof New Zealand and Australia against this rising tide of change? How does the dramatic improvement in virtual reality experiences affect tourism? How are our ports affected by the reduction in global freight from widespread 3D printing? And how do we prepare our young people when we don’t know what the future looks like? We have the opportunity to either be totally disrupted, or to emerge as global leaders here – Singularity University is driving the thinking behind these big questions.”

Early bird tickets are available until midnight Wednesday 31 August from singularityunz.com
