NZ Herald Gear S2 App Hits the Galaxy App Store

September 2016 – The New Zealand Herald has partnered with
Samsung to develop an app for the Gear S2 Smart Watch. The
Gear S2 app, which is available in the Galaxy App Store now,
keeps users up to date with the latest stories and
notifications from the Herald as they happen, all from their
wrist.
The Gear S2 app and watch allow users to be connected to current events without needing to be tied to their phone. The watch itself has a sleek design that is unobtrusive and has an easy to use bezel control.
The Gear S2 app is designed with the user in mind, it is intuitive and easy to use. Users can browse 10 in-depth sections, and scroll through each section’s articles using the bezel control or swiping up and down on the screen. For headlines that grab the reader’s attention, a simple tap of a mobile icon opens the full article in the Herald Android app on your Galaxy phone for easy reading and sharing.
Marcus Forbes, NZME’s GM Digital Innovation, says the partnership with Samsung is a natural fit. “Samsung is a key innovator in the wearables category and continue to develop technology that enhances people’s lives. The Herald App is an extension of this, and will revolutionise how people consume their news.”
Todd Selwyn, Head of IM Porfolio for Samsung New Zealand, is excited for what the Herald App means for consumers. “The Herald has such wide readership in New Zealand, and the Gear S2 app makes it even easier for our Gear S2 Smartwatch users to stay connected to news and current events. Combine this with the other capabilities such as health and fitness monitoring, and the watch becomes a clear solution for decluttering.”
Download the app by visiting the Galaxy App Store on your Samsung Device.
