Newmarket Business Association announces new board at AGM

MEDIA RELEASE

Newmarket Business Association announces new board at AGM

Auckland, New Zealand: Monday, 26th September 2016

Newmarket Business Association (NBA) held its Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 14 September at Mini Garage on Broadway. A diverse cross section of Newmarket business representatives were in attendance.

Chief Executive of the Newmarket Business Association, Mark Knoff Thomas, says this year’s AGM built on the positivity reported at last year’s AGM, which mainly focused on the turnaround achieved in the past 24 months.

“The precinct is up again with an impressive $19million in gross sales, the NBA itself has returned another surplus, so we have managed to replenish the capital reserves that had been depleted. In addition, the precinct has several hundred million dollars of investments happening in the next 12-18 months with a number of new and exciting projects in the pipeline,” adds Mark Knoff-Thomas.

No election was held this year as six nominees put themselves forward for selection. The new board will consist of: Bridget Smith (SBM Legal), Carl Sowter (Marley Loft); James Nelson (Scentre Group), Mark Hill-Rennie (ANZ), Rachel Dovey (Bayleys), Kalpana Reddy (Chow Hill).

Three board members did not stand for selection this year: Megan Sadgrove (Smith & Caughey), Shane Gorst (Make-A-Wish) and Brian Chen (Bliss Reflexology).
