The NZDUSD opens at 0.7278 (mid-rate) this morning.

The NZD has weakened slightly against all its major rivals over the past 24hrs trading down to a new 6-week low of 0.9438 against the AUD.

Overnight the US durable goods orders for the month of August avoided an expected fall coming in flat after surging 3.6% in July.

There is a notable absence of economic data releases scheduled for today and tomorrow with investors awaiting Friday night’s US GDP data for future direction.

Global equity markets remain mixed - Dow +0.07%, S&P 500 -0.11%, FTSE +0.61%, DAX +0.74%, CAC +0.77%, Nikkei -1.31%, Shanghai -0.34%.

Gold prices are down $4 overnight currently trading at $1,322 an ounce, WTI Crude Oil has regained 2.7% overnight currently trading at $45.82 a barrel
