Orion Health signs agreement with leading Canadian province
Orion Health (OHE:NZX/ASX) announced today that it has signed an agreement to provide a Canadian province with an innovative hosted solution to combine patients’ primary care information with their Electronic Health Record (EHR). Orion Health currently deploys software in the province, which manages patients’ EHRs.
The province currently has an expanding EHR solution that consolidates and displays patients’ data from a wide range of clinical sources, such as lab results and medications. Integration with primary healthcare data was seen as the next step to further enhance the value of the province’s investment in the EHR.
“We were selected because we are able to provide a solution that effectively leverages existing Orion Health technology and provincial assets, as well as our well-established presence in the province and in Canada,” stated Orion Health, CEO, Ian McCrae.
“This means that we are able to assist the province in enhancing their EHR, leveraging the existing technology platform, while avoiding costly system replacements.”
Using Orion Health’s Rhapsody Integration Engine, the new solution will collect clinically valuable patient data, in addition to other clinical documents from community systems, and prepare this information for access within the patient’s longitudinal record within the province’s EHR system.
Orion Health has contracts in 11 out of 13 provinces and territories in Canada, which gives it a strategic role in the evolution of the country’s health system.
