Protecting the Integrity of NZ Food in Overseas Markets

Conference to Help Exporters Protect the Integrity of New Zealand Food in Overseas Markets

Wednesday 7 December 2016

Protecting the integrity of the food New Zealand exports to the rest of the world is one of the key topics of discussion at the 2017 Food Integrity Conference.

Being held in Auckland on Wednesday 28 and Thursday 29 June 2017, the conference follows the success of the inaugural conference held in July this year.

Organised by the Asia Pacific Centre for Food Integrity, its Director Dr Helen Darling says the conference has been developed for businesses that have an export focus or intend develop their export market.

“Export producers are facing an increasingly complex food chain. They are judged on the quality of their food once it reaches the consumer, even though they don’t have total control over the supply chain. However, there are many ways exporters can mitigate risk and this is what we will explore over two days,” she says.

Helen Darling is thrilled that the 2017 Food Integrity Conference is being presented in association with AJ Park, one of Australasia’s leading intellectual property law firms.

AJ Park Chairman of Partners, John Hackett says “Many of our clients operate in the food sector and we’re delighted to show our support for them and the industry in general by being involved in this important event. We were impressed by the quality of the programme and speakers at this year’s inaugural conference and are looking forward to contributing to an even better event next year.”
