Northland power outage - update 4pm 8/12/16

VODAFONE MEDIA UPDATE #3: 4:00 PM – Northland power outage

Transpower is continuing to work to restore power to all affected regions of Northland. As mains power is being restored, Vodafone technicians are working on cell sites in each of these regions to switch them over from back-up generators, to mains power, fully restoring mobile services for Vodafone customers.

At this point in time, technicians have restored mobile services to all but two sites - Ahipara and Omapere. We would like to advise customers in these regions that we expect to return them to full service shortly.

Thank you to all the team members who have been working across the region, particularly as they have been working in adverse weather conditions. We apologise to our customers for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

VODAFONE MEDIA UPDATE #2: 12:45 PM

Further to our update at 10:00 am, we can now advise customers across Northland that mobile services are being restored as our team deploys generators.

Services have been restored to sites at Kaikohe, Okaihau, Kaitaia and Ahipara. Customers in these regions should have returned to normal service. Technicians are currently working at cell sites in Kawakawa East and Tauranga Bay, which will be the next sites to be restored.

Further updates will communicated as information becomes available via ourwebsite, Vodafone Community, Facebook and Twitter. For information about the power outage, regular updates are being provided on the Transpower NZ Facebook page
