It’s time to support the employers of tomorrow

It’s time to support the employers of tomorrow

Facebook was started in a dorm room and has since revolutionised the way people communicate and stay in touch. It has created numerous jobs and changed the online environment to become what we know today. But Facebook isn’t the only ‘students in business’ success story.

The Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA), run by the Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO), create a platform where students who own a business while attending university can compete against their peers and gain mentorship, recognition and connections to take their business to the next level of success.

One of them might even have ‘the next big thing’. Either way, it is these individuals who are, or will become, the employers of tomorrow; they’re the ones that will go on to change the face of business as we currently know it.

Research has indicated that even the jobs we have now won’t be the same in the future. In fact, it is expected that 65% of today’s school children will be employed in jobs that have yet to be created. And it is young entrepreneurs who will be the employers creating these jobs.

The EO GSEA competition gives young entrepreneurs the opportunity to learn from the people who have already walked the walk and win some awesome prizes to help their businesses excel. It provides a platform for them to develop their entrepreneurial skills.

Entrants will be judged by successful business leaders and the event will feature some of New Zealand’s top entrepreneurs sharing their stories and advice through a Q&A panel. Made up of Josh Comrie, Angel Investor; Geoff Baldwin, Haven Financial Advisers and Deployed; Seeby Woodhouse, Voyager Internet; and James McGlinn, Eventfinda, the panel provides a fantastic opportunity to learn from some of the best about how they see entrepreneurship.

The winner of this competition will then have the opportunity to compete at the APAC Regional Finals on Monday 13 March – as well as the Global Finals, which will be held in Frankfurt, Germany on 27-29 April.

Come along to see the future of business – and learn a few things along the way yourself. For tickets please contact Ashley@pureseo.co.nz.
