Spark moves Genesis Energy into the cloud

Genesis Energy is now running its business from the cloud, after this month completing a large-scale migration of its IT infrastructure to Spark’s Revera Cloud platform.

The migration has been accomplished as part of a broader partnership through which Spark is delivering the power company a tailored package of IT managed services, business mobile, and cloud services in a highly competitive five year deal.

EGM Technology and Digital for Genesis Energy, Jennifer Cherrington-Mowat, said, ‘Making the move to cloud IT is a logical step for us as we focus on delivering the best outcomes for customers. We’re now in a great position to drive further efficiencies and deliver innovative energy solutions for New Zealanders in a fast-changing energy market.”

Spark’s GM Enterprise Commercial & Trans-Tasman, Vanessa Sorenson, notes that the partnership between the two businesses goes beyond a shared commitment to enhancing Genesis’s operation via digital means. Both parties are also complementing each other’s business by offering additional value-added products and services directly to their respective customers.

“We are both businesses invested in powering New Zealand’s future. Like Genesis Energy, Spark’s driving force is to deliver truly useful technologies that enable businesses and consumers to do their best work, and be their best selves,” said Sorenson.

“Spark is pleased to be doing our bit to help this all-important Kiwi business simplify their operation, and focus their efforts on the products and services that matter most to their customers.”
