Entries open for the 2017 NZ Event Awards

MEDIA RELEASE

1 June 2017

New Zealand Events Awards 2017 now open for applications

New Zealand’s annual Events Awards open today for all 2017 applications as they look to celebrate another amazing year of success and innovation in a dynamic industry.

The Award’s organisers New Zealand Events Assocation (NZEA) Chair Andrea Scotland says that the Awards have seen year upon year growth creating an intensely competitive forum nationally that recognises and promotes excellence within the events sector.

“The purpose of the New Zealand Event Awards is to celebrate the boundaries pushed, the new benchmarks set and innovations we can share. We have world-class events and organisers in New Zealand, this is proven in the incredibly high calibre of applications we receive yearly and the feedback from our independent panel of judges.

“Last year entry application numbers doubled nationwide when compared to the 2015 submissions. This significant growth pattern illustrates that these Awards are truly an opportuntity for events of all types and sizes, their organisers and organisations, from all aspects of the industry, to be held up as the best of the best.”

The 2017 Awards introduces this year five new catagories to further celebrate and recognise New Zealand’s world class events indusry. Four of these catagories focus on sponsorship professionals and sponsors inviting them to showcase their work and success. And a fifth category has been established to showcase the providers and creators of Business to Business events of varying scale – Conferences, Incentive group travel programmes, tradeshows or other B2B styled activity which are crucial for many New Zealand industries in terms of growth and new opportunities.
