Yealands Wine Group Sells Crossroads Winery

Yealands Wine Group Sells Crossroads Winery but Retains Award-Winning Brand

PRESS RELEASE – for immediate distribution
Monday 12th June, 2017

The Crossroads Winery in Hawke’s Bay can claim twenty-five years of quality, award-winning winemaking in New Zealand. A large part of Crossroads’ success has come from its boutique, hand-crafted style and small-parcel sourcing within Hawke’s Bay.

In 2011, Yealands Family Wines acquired the Crossroads winery and continued to focus on the small parcel, hand-crafted winemaking strategy as they looked to grow the brand globally.

In July 2016, as the Yealands Estate winery continued to develop and grow, it became increasingly evident that centralising winemaking in Marlborough for both brands would be the logical next step. The opportunity to move Crossroads winemaking to the Yealands Estate winery would allow the twenty-five year history of quality and craft to gain momentum in the global markets.

After recently receiving an offer, we are announcing that, as of today, the Crossroads Winery has been sold. Yealands Family Wines now look forward to Crossroads’ exciting future with Marlborough as its new home.

Yealands Family Wines are committed to producing high quality, sustainable wines in their purpose-built state-of-the-art winemaking facility. In moving Crossroads winemaking to Yealands Estate these practices of quality and sustainability will naturally carry-through to the Crossroads brand.
