Wellington becomes home to NZ's biggest adult toy warehouse

Wellington set to become home to New Zealand’s biggest adult toy warehouse

New Zealanders love sex toys according to kiwi online adult toy retailer Adulttoymegastore, which is moving to a warehouse 10 times the size of its current premise next month to keep up with the store’s high demand and growth.

As one of New Zealand’s leading adult toy retailers, Adulttoymegastore developed the need for a much larger warehouse, leading to the purchasing of a 3,500 square metre premise in Grenada North, Porirua, which is set to become the largest warehouse specifically for adult toys in New Zealand.

Adulttoymegastore, also known as ATMS, is a Wellington-based online adult toy and lingerie retailer that started in 2009 with the vision of providing New Zealanders with access to the best adult toys the world has to offer.

Since then, the adult retailer has seen substantial growth, including entering the Australian market, and the retailer has plans in motion to expand to further countries, including the USA.

Adulttoymegastore’s head office will remain on Haining Street in Te Aro, Wellington, to cater to a growing team, while warehouse operations will move to its new premise on Dragon Street in Grenada North.
The move is set to begin on 1 August, with the transition expected to take three to four weeks, explains Adulttoymegastore warehouse logistics manager Rohan Whyte.

“Continuing to provide our customers with the best possible service during the move is our top priority, so we’ve planned for the move to the new warehouse to run over a month to ensure minimal disruption to normal operations,” Rohan explains.

“It’s a very exciting time for us. Logistically, it’s going to be much more efficient for the team, and ultimately better for our customers, because the new warehouse has the capacity to hold millions of products.”

Adulttoymegastore marketing executive, Emma Hewitt, says business is as busy as ever, which triggered the need for the retailer to move to a larger warehouse.

“Kiwis sure love their sex toys! So much so that we’re bursting at the seams in our current location in Te Aro, so we’ve bought a warehouse in Grenada North that’s 10 times the size!”

She says the new location will mean Adulttoymegastore will no longer need to house stock in multiple locations.

“The new warehouse is a big step forward for us because it shows just how much we have grown over the years,” says Emma.

“This move is a testament to Adulttoymegastore’s growth, and reinforces the fact that we’re the New Zealand retailer that kiwis come to for everything adult – whether it’s to gain knowledge, share experiences or to buy toys to add to their collection.”

Adulttoymegastore’s new warehouse will create more job opportunities in Porirua due to its expansion plans.

The warehouse, which will be the largest premise dedicated specifically to stocking sex toys in New Zealand, is also evidence that New Zealanders enjoy their sex toys, Emma explains.

“Our customers are from all walks of life – they’re 18 and over, with some of our customers in their 80s, which goes to show that our audience is rather diverse,” says Emma.

“We stock more than 10,000 different types of products with more being added each day, so it’s safe to say that we have something for everyone!”

Adulttoymegastore was recently revealed as a finalist for three categories at the Retail NZ Top Shop Awards to be held in Auckland on 7 September, which include the Innovation Award, the Pureplay Etailer Award, and the People’s Choice Award.

Adulttoymegastore content executive, Janelle Cheesman, says the retailer’s success is partly due to the retailer’s commitment to innovation, customer service, fast shipping, and discretion.

“Buying sex toys from Adulttoymegastore is so popular because people feel at ease shopping with us. They don’t feel judged for what products they buy – it’s private, discreet and stress-free,” Janelle explains.

“Adulttoymegastore is proudly New Zealand owned and operated and we’re always finding new ways to make shopping with us even better for our customers. We may be a small team, but we’re extremely passionate about what we do and we have a lot of fun, which makes Adulttoymegastore a great place to work, and the best adult store to shop with!”

Adulttoymegastore provides a wide range of adult toys to suit New Zealander’s individual budgets and needs. To find out more, visit www.adulttoymegastore.co.nz
