Three Wins the Week in 25-54, Hits Year-to-Date High.

FIRST ANNUAL GEORGIE AWARDS CELEBRATES THE BEST IN RADIO & LIFESTYLE

Three won the night three times last week in the commercially important 25-54 demographic: Monday (25-54, 18-39, 18-49), Tuesday (25-54, 18-39, 18-49) and Sunday (all four demographics). This resulted in Three winning the week in 25-54 with a 24.3% share.

The week got off to a great start on Monday night with Three hitting a year-to-date high in the 25-54 demographic with a 36.7% share - the biggest peak night since October 2013. Timeslot winners included The AM Show (all four demographics), The Block NZ (25-54, 18-39, 18-49) and Newshub Decision 17 Leaders Debate (all four demographics). The leaders’ debate was the highest rating show for Three year-to-date with an 11.6 rating in 25-54 and a 39.3% share.

The first half of the week also saw timeslot wins from The Block NZ (all four demographics) on Tuesday and Wednesday evening, NCIS: Los Angeles (25-54, 18-49) and Thursday nights action movie, Speed (25-54, 18-39, 18-49).

Heading into the weekend, 7 Days* (all four demographics) and Fail Army (25-54, 18-49, HHS) won their timeslots on Friday evening and Sundaynight saw wins from The Block NZ (all four demographics) and blockbuster Lucy (all four demographics).

With one week remaining of The Block NZ, there will be a two hour special on Wednesday night as the teams battle it out for the last reveal – the outdoor space. The season finale and live auction will then take place on Sunday night at 7pm on Three.

In radio, the first annual Georgie Awards took place on Friday night celebrating the best of New Zealand’s music and lifestyle. Inaugural winners of the Georgie trophy included Kiwi international pop superstar Lorde, whose Montell2099 & SACHI remix of Greenlight took out the award for BurgerFuel Banger of the Year; iconic streetwear label Huffer was named Fashion Quarterly’s Hottest NZ Designer; and soulful House and Dance duo Nice ‘n’ Urlich’s 21-year partnership was honoured with the George FM Lifetime Achievement Award.

The Rock 1500 has seen a boost in total Rova app download numbers to more than 200,000 as well as record daily streaming numbers. The world’s biggest music countdown reaches the home stretch this week with the number one song, as voted by listeners, set to be revealed at The Rock 1500 Countdown party at The Powerstation in Auckland on Friday. The event, hosted by The Rock Drive’s Thane and Dunc who will be broadcasting live from the venue from 3pm, will also feature performances from Kiwi rock royalty Shihad along with Skinny Hobos.

Finally, Who Owns NZ Now?*, the latest documentary produced by Bryan Bruce is airing tomorrow night on Three at 8.30pm. Investigative journalist, Bruce, looks to unpack why and how housing has become so unaffordable in New Zealand and offers alternative solutions.
