Where is Taupo’s $30 million Powerball ticket?

The search is on: Where is Taupo’s $30 million Powerball ticket?

It’s the $30 million question everyone in Taupo is asking: Where isSaturday’s winning Powerball ticket?

New Zealand’s third largest Powerball prize was won in Taupo over the weekend, with the $30 million winning ticket purchased at Richmond Superette.

With the lucky winner yet to claim their prize, Lotto NZ is encouraging Lotto players to dig out their tickets and check them as soon as possible – the golden ticket is out there somewhere.

While most big winners keep their Lotto tickets in their wallet, it’s not unusual for tickets to turn up in some obscure places. Big winning tickets have been found everywhere from in underwear drawers and bibles to car glove boxes and DVD cases.

Just last year a Hamilton man found an old Lotto ticket in his desk drawer – and ended up $333,333 better off.

“I had to go and collect something from work and decided I may as well clean out my desk drawer while I was there. I pulled out a handful of old receipts, then I saw my Lotto wallet buried beneath all the junk. I quickly grabbed it and when I opened it up, there was my missing Lotto ticket!”

With a $30 million winning Powerball ticket on the loose, Lotto NZ is urging anyone who purchased a Lotto ticket for Saturday’s draw at Richmond Superette in Taupo to check their ticket as soon as possible.

“The golden ticket is out there somewhere, so it’s time for Lotto players to empty their wallets, dig through their drawers and get checking – one lucky ticket is worth $30 million,” said Kirsten Robinson, Senior Communications Advisor at Lotto NZ.
