Three Wins the Week in 25-54, Hits Highest Weekly Share in Over 10 Years, Newshub Cleans up on Election Night Ratings

Three is celebrating winning the week last week with a 27.8% share – its highest weekly share recorded in over ten years.

Saturday evening’s election coverage saw more than 1.2 million people in 5+ tune into the Newshub Decision 17 Election Special. This resulted in a timeslot win across three demographics (25-54, 18-39, 18-49) including the crucial 25-54 audience with a 9.1 rating and 37.7% share.

This resulted in Newshub winning the Election night coverage in 25-54, outperforming the 1 News Election Special by 23% with an average audience of 176,294 versus 143,801.

Three won the night across all four demographics on Tuesday evening with the premiere of both Grand Designs* and Lost & Found*. Grand Designs won its timeslot across all four demographics with a 10.3 rating and 29.8% share and Lost & Found also won its timeslot (25-54, 18-49 and HHS) with a 7.8 rating and 26.8% share. This was topped off with Killer Women with Piers Morgan also winning its timeslot (all four demographics).

Heading into the weekend, Three also won Friday night across all four demographics with its usual line up of The Graham Norton Show (all four demographics), 7 Days* (all four demographics), and Fail Army (25-54, 18-49, HHS) taking out their respective timeslots.

Monday: Blue Bloods (25-54)

Wednesday: The AM Show (all four demographics)

Thursday: Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (25-54, 18-39, 18-49)

The world premiere of New Zealand’s first ever series of the global smash-hit, Married at First Sight, takes place this Sunday, October 1st at 7pm on Three. The ultimate social experiment will see six weddings between 12 individuals. The diverse line-up includes singles from across the country, with ages ranging between 25 to 58 years.

In radio, The Mai Hot 900 is on now, counting down the hottest hip hop and RnB songs as voted for by listeners. Every day at 7am the Mai Morning Crew is revealing the favourite songs as they countdown to the number one track for 2017.

Finally, the third of four GfK radio survey results for 2017 will be released on Thursday, September 28th from 1pm.
