Classic kiwi holiday park placed on
the market for sale

A traditional Kiwi caravan, cabin, and camping space situated midway between Nelson and Blenheim has been placed on the market for sale.

Mount Richmond Estate holiday park is a configuration of self-contained luxury cottages, campervan plots, and caravan sites - sustained by a café/restaurant with adjacent conference and event-hosting facilities.

The tourist accommodation business sits on 4.14 hectares of rural-zoned land, with allowance for a mix of commercial accommodation and residential dwellings. The land comprises two titles, and is surrounded by native and exotic wood forests – with a sealed access road running through the middle of the amenities and building structures.

Leisure amenities on the property include a spa pool, tennis court, basketball hoops, croquet lawn, and DVD library. For more adventurous guests, there are multiple mountain biking tracks in nearby Marlborough Sounds. The property is located at 7090 State Highway 6 in the Rai Valley.

The Mount Richmond Estate land, buildings and business are being marketed for sale by negotiation through Bayleys Nelson. Salespeople Gill Ireland and Grant Baxter said the business was a life-changing opportunity in one of the South Island’s most picturesque natural environments with a blend of home, income and lifestyle.

“Reinvigorated with substantial investment by the current owners, the property now represents a unique proposition for a new owner to acquire and unlock the further potential this remarkable property and location have to offer,” Ms Ireland said.

Building infrastructure on the property totals some 1,200 square metres, and includes a pair of three-bedroom homes for the owner/manager and staff, or as part of the accommodation offering pool, as well as a variety of implement sheds and workshops.

All of the units are two-bedrooms, and come with their own bathrooms and kitchens. Mr Baxter said Mount Richmond Estate holiday park had the capacity to operate both as a commercial accommodation venture during the busy summer months, or as a function and events venue at other times of the year when the entire facility could be booked out to host private gatherings.
