NZ's own pay-per-view movie streaming service launches

New Zealand's own pay-per-view movie streaming service launches today

Announced in December last year, Stuff Fibre's venture into pay-per-view movie streaming service, Stuff Pix, launches to the public today. Available on desktop and mobile to every New Zealander with internet access, Stuff Pix serves up the latest release blockbuster movies for $6.95, as well as a large catalogue of recent and all-time favourites starting from just $1.

"The all-star lineup currently features summer smash hits Thor: Ragnarok and Justice League, among others," says Stuff Fibre Managing Director Sam Morse. "We're rapidly expanding the new release library thanks to our partnerships with Disney, NBCUniversal, Village Roadshow and Warner Brothers, with international films such as Star-Wars: The Last Jedi, Fifty Shades Freed and Pitch Perfect 3 set for release in coming weeks."

It's not just the latest Hollywood blockbuster films that are available on Stuff Pix. Deals with local distributors such as Entertainment One, Madman Entertainment, South Pacific Pictures and Vendetta Films mean that there is a wealth of Kiwi films available for home viewing.

Backed by Stuff, New Zealand's number one news and entertainment site, Stuff Pix is a locally owned and operated movie streaming service and boasts partnerships with major studios.

Having launched internet service provider (ISP) Stuff Fibre - which was named the Best Fibre Broadband Provider at the Broadband Compare awards last year and has quickly become one of New Zealand's fastest growing ISPs - Morse says he's confident that Stuff Pix will be a hit in the New Zealand market.

"We recognise that the online streaming market in New Zealand is getting more competitive," says Morse, "We've proven with Stuff Fibre that competition helps us deliver the best service that New Zealanders want. We believe movie viewers haven't been well catered for online so Stuff Pix will deliver New Zealand's best online movie experience by single-mindedly catering to movie fans."

Instead of offering subscription options and a limited range of movie content like other streaming services, Stuff Pix users will pay a one-off price for each movie with no ongoing subscription fees. All internet users will be able to enjoy Stuff Pix, while Stuff Fibre customers will enjoy a free movie every month.

To watch movies on Stuff Pix, head to www.stuffpix.co.nz or download the Stuff Pix app from the Google Play or Apple App Store.
