Upcoming release of International Travel and International Migration

November 2018 statistics will be released on 25 January 2019 in the new ‘International Travel’ and ‘International Migration’ releases. This is the first release of these monthly statistics since the departure card was removed. International Visitor Arrivals (IVA) is now part of the International Travel release.
Some statistics
will be unavailable on 25 January:
• Some low-level
Infoshare time series will be temporarily unavailable until
February while new series are being constructed.
•
Travel and migration statistics by NZ place-of-residence (eg
region, territorial authority area) will be unavailable on
25 January. We have been investigating options to use linked
administrative data to provide this subnational detail (see
Measuring international migration for
subnational areas: Exploring the use of administrative
address data for international migration statistics,
April 2018). We will advise when subnational data are
available.
The changes to the travel and migration system will also delay some regular customised subscription tables until early February, while new tables are developed.
