Westpac offers relief options to customers affected by West Coast flooding

Westpac NZ is offering financial support to customers affected by severe weather and flooding in Westland.

The relief package features a range of possible support options for both business and personal customers. These may include:

- A temporary overdraft facility;

- Suspension of principal loan payments for up to three months;

- Deferred payment on business credit cards for up to three months.

Customers requiring access to term deposit funds should also contact us.

Westpac NZ General Manager of Consumer Banking and Wealth, Simon Power, says there is the potential for many residents to suffer ongoing disruption to their businesses and their lives due to storm damage.

“This is a frightening time for people in parts of the West Coast, particularly those isolated by the flooding,” Mr Power says.

“We want to help reduce the uncertainty for our customers by offering financial support where we can.”

Anyone who has been impacted by the severe weather should call us on 0800 772 771 to discuss their individual needs. Our Hokitika branch remains open and they are welcome to visit us in person, provided it’s safe for them to do so.
