Kiwi Games Win International Awards

New Zealand company IQideas Ltd has scooped two international awards for its high quality Kiwi-designed educational board games.

miQube board game and puzzle, invented by IQideas founder Andrew Baker has received the Major Fun Thinking Award (US). Organisers of the award commented, “Most worthy of a position of honour on the family coffee table. It is most conducive to several hours of happily challenged playtime.” The award is the second for miQube having already secured a Silver Honour Medal from the Parents Choice Foundation endorsing its educational value.

IQideas Kiwi designed world geography board game: The Amazing Mammoth Hunt took honours at this year’s US National Parenting Center awards receiving a Seal of Approval. “This nicely designed game features the kinds of educational components that parents appreciate and children enjoy. Game play is simple and straight forward. The illustrations are quite adorable and the experience is quite engaging,” highlighted the review.

IQideas was founded four years ago by Andrew and Briggita Baker and over the last two years has undergone rapid growth from developing and marketing one board game to the local market, to having a range of 12 games. The games are distributed internationally to markets in Europe, North America, Australia, the Middle East and Asia. The range includes the hugely popular New Zealand geography game The Amazing Moa Hunt which was one of the top selling boardgames for Christmas last year, and the newest addition The Terrific Tuatara Trail focused on exploring New Zealand’s history.

“The awards are a great endorsement of the educational value of our games. International recognition helps put our New Zealand designed games in front of the world,” says Andrew Baker, Managing Director IQideas Ltd.
