Botany Town Centre Unveils New Fashion Pavilion

Media Release November 2011

Botany Town Centre’s $6.5 Million Upgrade Known as the Fashion Pavilion, is Unveiled to Shoppers

A host of Botany locals, including MP for Botany Jami-Lee Ross, were present for the formal unveiling of Botany Town Centre’s ambitious new Fashion Pavilion earlier this month. The opening of the $6.5 million development coincides with both the centre’s 10th anniversary and the launch of the shopper-friendly summer holiday season.

Mr Ross addressed guests before officially cutting the ribbon to unveil East Auckland’s newest fashion hub and shopping district. Mr Ross said he was delighted to accept the invitation as special guest: “It was a pleasure to open the Botany Town Centre Fashion Pavilion and be a part of the landmark occasion. It represents a significant investment in the Botany community which will afford locals a variety of opportunities and retail choice.”

The development brings in seven new and leading fashion retailers, including Country Road and M.A.C Cosmetics, increasing the diversity of the centre’s offer to east Auckland shoppers. Also coming in are fashion retailers Veronika Maine and Blue Illusion, shirtmaker Nicholas Jermyn and chocolate specialists Theobroma Chocolate Lounge.

Returning are popular retailers Hartleys and Identity, along with Witchery, which has expanded its range to include men’s and children’s fashion.

The new precinct has a contemporary look and feel derived from a plentitude of natural light, plush seating and an upmarket design aesthetic.

Botany Town Centre manager Andrew Wadsworth says, “Our shoppers love variety and we are thrilled to have attracted such a high calibre of leading fashion retailers to the centre. The Fashion Pavilion development represents a substantial investment in the local community by our owners, the AMP Capital Property Portfolio fund, and is a positive move for the community during challenging economic times.

“It means we can offer the best in retail in the form of a highly competitive fashion run that meets the needs of our market, and give shoppers in our area a total fashion shopping destination. The timing is ideal – people are looking for the new season’s styles as the weather warms up, and for interesting new places to spend time as the holidays approach. We’re pleased to be able to present something new to our loyal community.”
