Contribeauty - turning data into design

MEDIA RELEASE
MONDAY 28 JANUARY 2013.

Contribeauty - turning data into design.

Contribeauty is partnering with New Zealand’s crowdfunding platform Pledgeme.co.nz on Saturday 16th of February, for the second in a series of infographics competitions on the topic of Crowdfunding.

Contribeauty brings organisations with powerful data and stories to tell together with groups of designers to create content worth sharing. The Contribeauty events represent a great opportunity for Wellington designers to stretch their skills, collaborate with local organisations, gain exposure and feedback on their work.

“We’re super excited that we can create some amazing infographics by and for the crowds. This is such an interesting and evolving space, that we’re not quite sure what will come out of the day - but we can’t wait to see,” says Anna Guenther, co-founder of PledgeMe.

The Contribeauty judging panel includes Helen Baxter from Mohawk Media and solutions architect Jonathan Ewing. Designers can register for the event by emailing contribeauty@gmail.com The first Contribeauty competition in December was in association with Buckybox, on the topic of food production. The winning entry ‘Comparing apples with apples’ was by Nandini Nair and Rose Wu, and all entries can be viewed at the Contribeauty Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/Contribeauty

Contribeauty is organised by Chris Curry and Anthony Cabraal, hosted by Enspiral (Wellington) and supported by Creative Commons Aotearoa NZ & Mohawk Media.
