Voting For The 2013 Fonterra Elections Underway

Voting is now open for the 2013 Fonterra Board of Directors’ Elections and the Shareholders’ Council Elections in Ward 8 (Hamilton) and Ward 21 (Coastal Taranaki).

This year there are five candidates standing for the Board of Directors’ Election. They are Donna Smit, Eric Ray, Michael Spaans and the two incumbent Directors Ian Farrelly and Malcolm Bailey.

Fonterra shareholders have the opportunity to meet Director candidates and ask questions at the 12 Directors’ Election Candidate Roadshow meetings which are scheduled to run from Sunday, 10 – Friday, 15 November 2013. The dates and venues for the Roadshow meetings are:

Elections for the Fonterra Shareholders’ Council are required in two wards. Shareholders Ross Wallis, Grant Coombes and Bruce Haultain are standing for Ward 8 (Hamilton), and Vaughn Brophy and Lloyd Morgan are standing for Ward 21 (Coastal Taranaki).

The voting period runs from Friday, 1 November to 10.30am on Monday, 25 November 2013. The results will be determined and announced after the close of voting. All successful candidates take office at the close of the Annual Meeting.

Voting is also open for the Annual Meeting resolutions. Shareholders are being asked to vote on five ordinary business resolutions and two resolutions to ratify the appointment of independent Directors.

Shareholders can vote via internet, post or fax in respect of both the Fonterra Elections and Annual Meeting resolutions until 10.30am on Monday, 25 November 2013. Shareholders can also vote in person or via proxy for the Annual Meeting resolutions at the Annual Meeting on Wednesday, 27 November 2013, being held at the Fonterra Edendale site, State Highway 1, Edendale.
