ServiceIQ is pleased to announce the three finalists for each of the Upper South Island, and Lower North Island, ServiceIQ Regional Retail Professional Award.

The winner for Upper South will be announced on 24 September in Christchurch, and the Lower North on 8 October in Wellington. Both will go forward to represent their regions in the national awards, held at a gala event in Auckland on 22 October.

The Upper South Island finalists are:
· Diana McKay, NZ Rockshop, Christchurch

· Aleasha Carruth, Resene, Christchurch

· Stefan Miller, Kitchen Things, Nelson

Diana is “lightning in a bottle!” according to NZ Rockshop Director Brett Wells. “In a very male dominated industry, Diana has transformed her retail environment with humour, passion and absolute dedication to her clients. She is on a fast track to the top.”

“Aleasha has moved through the network system to now be the Assistant Shop Manager due to her fantastic manner and customer service to both high end retail and trade”, says Resene Canterbury Retail Manager Andy McPherson. “Once again we have a super star!”

Kitchen Things Southern Regional Manager Greg Hoffman says Stefan Miller has run the Nelson store since 2013. “He has turned the performance of the store around and established some good local commercial clients.”

The Lower North Island finalists are:
· Kalima Farris, The Pet Centre, Lower Hutt

· Beau Richardson, NZ Rockshop, Palmerston North

· Chandrasekhar Ammanamanchi, Noel Leeming, Porirua

Pet Centre Store Manager Lynnie Stringfellow says, “Kalima is smiley, friendly, product knowledgeable, helpful. Kalima also is in charge of our Puppy Pre School night classes and our secondary animal carer.”

Beau came to the Rockshop’s notice when he was still at school – “Beau was all about guitars, guitars and more guitars,” says NZ Rockshop Director Brett Wells. “When Beau came in for his weekly visit the manager asked him to apply for our position. He was a bit stunned: it is his dream job.”

Noel Leeming Assistant Manager Anderson Wrenn says Chandra is the top salesman in his region, “and potentially the top performing salesman nationwide. He excels in his role and far exceeds the required KPIs that we use to measure performance across the board.”

All ServiceIQ Retail Professional nominees have worked in retail for four years or less, and have completed or are studying towards a ServiceIQ National Certificate in Retail.

ServiceIQ Chief Executive Dean Minchington congratulates all six finalists and their employers. “Making it to a regional final is an endorsement of the efforts these keen young retailers have made, and acknowledges their employers’ investment in quality staff training. We’re excited to be launching these new awards and look forward to discovering New Zealand’s rising stars of retail.”

The winners from each of the five regions will gather in Auckland on 22 October to learn who will win the inaugural ServiceIQ New Zealand Retail Professional Award.
