Stickman grows a Mo for Movember

Media release

Stickman grows a Mo for Movember

Stickman is calling all Mo’ Bros and Mo’ Sistas around New Zealand to get involved this Movember

Stickman will show the men of New Zealand how it’s done and introduce Kiwi blokes to the latest facial hair trend – the ‘stick’ moustache – by growing a Mo of his own for the month of November.

PAK’nSAVE, the country’s favourite black and yellow supermarket, is proud to get behind this year’s Movember campaign where men are encouraged to grow a moustache in support of men’s health. Another key part of the campaign is urging Kiwis to take part in the MOVE challenge, which is all about getting moving for the 30 days of November.

Employees from PAK’nSAVE’s 52 supermarkets around New Zealand are being asked to embrace their inner MO Bro or MO Sista and either grow a Mo, or take part in the MOVE challenge, and fundraise for this worthy cause.

“As a Kiwi company, PAK’nSAVE is proud to be doing its part to help make a lasting difference to Kiwi men’s lives. Sadly, men’s health isn’t something we’re very good at talking about as a nation, so we’re keen to get behind the good work of the Movember Foundation,” says Steve Anderson, Managing Director, Foodstuffs New Zealand Ltd.

“We’re a competitive bunch – not only do we have the most competitive food prices, but to up the ante Foodstuffs North Island will be going MO face-to-MO face against sister company Foodstuffs South Island to see who can fundraise the MOst, and see which island is the hairier-lipped come the end of Movember.

“Apologies in advance to all the wives, girlfriends and loved ones of our staff – there will be plenty of hairy faces around our supermarkets during November. Just remember that the grown ‘slugs’, ‘handlebars’ and ‘toothbrushes’ are all for a great cause,” says Steve.

Robert Dunne the Movember Foundation New Zealand Country Manager is thrilled PAK’nSAVE is all in and good to Mo.

“Growing a moustache is a temporary gesture, but we hope it starts conversations about men’s health that make a lifetime of difference. PAK’nSAVE’s display of support is fantastic and we’re excited to see the competition between the stores and islands thrive. Money raised will be gratefully received and go towards funding local initiatives for NZ blokes helping them to lead happier, healthier lives.”

PAK’nSAVE is taking part in Movember which runs from 1-30 November. All funds raised will be donated directly to the Movember Foundation through their website. Customers, friends and family can support PAK’nSAVE staff by donating to teams at https://nz.movember.com/donate
