Feds Pleased With Decision to Leave Earner Levy Unchanged

--

Federated Farmers is pleased to see the Government decide to keep the ACC ‘Earner Levy’ unchanged.

Acting ACC Minister Nathan Guy confirmed ACC levies for next year and notably rejected ACC’s recommendation to increase the Earner Levy by 4 percent.

The Earner Levy is what employees and the self-employed pay for claims from non-work accidents.

"When we were consulted on the proposed levies we submitted against the proposed increase in the Earner Levy because the Earner Account is significantly over-funded so an increase was unnecessary," Federated Farmers ACC spokesperson Katie Milne says.

The decision to reject ACC’s recommendation will save levy payers almost $50 million in 2017/18.
