New director for MDC Holdings and Marlborough Airport

Marlborough District Council has approved the appointment of chartered accountant Alexandra Barton to the boards of MDC Holdings Ltd and Marlborough Airport Ltd.

Currently Alexandra (Alex) is an owner-director of local accounting firm, Leslie & O’Donnell Ltd. Alex’s previous experience includes over fifteen years working as both a consultant and in corporate roles in the UK, Australia and New Zealand including several years with Air New Zealand. She has a strong background in finance, strategy, governance and investor relations.

MDC holdings Chairman Richard Olliver says he is looking forward to working with her.

“Alex brings a solid skillset to our board and was the outstanding candidate in a strong field.”

Mayor John Leggett said: “Marlborough is fortunate to have attracted someone of Alex’s calibre and experience – she will be a great addition to the board.”

MDC Holdings is a council controlled trading organisation established to act as a holding company for the council’s commercial entities. MDC Holdings is 100% owned by Marlborough District Council and in turn owns 100% of Marlborough Airport Ltd and Port Marlborough NZ Ltd.
