Meccano menswear chain enters Voluntary Administration

KordaMentha partners, Grant Graham and Neale Jackson, have been appointed Voluntary Administrators by the Board of menswear clothing retailer, Meccano 2016 Limited, trading as Meccano.

Administrator, Neale Jackson, said at this stage all Meccano stores in New Zealand would remain open in the administration, and on sale mode.

“Having just been appointed, we are seeking urgent expressions of interest for the business assets and working closely with the management team to quickly establish a way forward for the business”, Mr Jackson said.

Meccano’s head office is in Auckland. The business has approximately 60 staff nationwide across 12 stores, as well as its online business.

Voluntary administration allows the company to continue trading while creditors are involved in a formal process to consider the best way forward.

Meccano stores are located in:
Westfield Albany, Auckland; Westfield Manukau City, Auckland; Northwest Shopping Centre, Auckland; St Lukes Shopping Centre, Auckland; Lynn Mall Shopping Centre, Auckland; Centreplace Shopping Centre, Hamilton; Te Awa Shopping Centre, Hamilton; Bayfair Shopping Centre, Mt Maunganui; Northlands Shopping Centre, Christchurch; The Palms Shopping Centre, Christchurch; Westfield Riccarton, Christchurch; Meridian Mall, Dunedin.
