Money Compare a Fintech Innovation Challenge finalist

Money Compare, from NZ Compare, announced as a Fintech Innovation Challenge finalist

The team at NZ Compare are proud to announce that their latest, soon to be launched comparison website, Money Compare (www.moneycompare.co.nz) has been shortlisted by Paymark as a finalist in the 2018 Fintech Innovation Challenge.

Money Compare is a free, online comparison service from NZ Compare, the team behind the hugely successful Broadband Compare (www.broadbandcompare.co.nz) and Power Compare (www.powercompare.co.nz) websites. The soon to launch Money Compare site will allow Kiwis to compare thousands of financial products from a range of providers. Whether saving or borrowing, Money Compare has tools, calculators and data to help consumers make an informed financial decision whilst saving them time and money and we’re delighted to make the final of the Fintech Innovation Challenge.

Judges selected Money Compare and the other four finalists from a large pool of applicants and Paymark’s Ross Delaney, Head of Strategy & Innovation said the field was particularly strong.

"It’s great to see so much innovation in the fintech space and the range of entries made choosing only five finalists that much tougher," says Delaney.

Money Compare and the other four finalists will pitch their entries to the judges and conference delegation at the PaymentsNZ conference, The Point 2018, on June 26. Each finalist will have six minutes to present, followed by a four-minute Q&A session with a panel of industry experts.

Delegates will then vote for the grand prize winner and the startup with the most votes will walk away with $10,000 and a generous mentoring package from Paymark.

Commenting on their selection as a finalist, Gavin Male, CEO and Founder of NZ Compare said "We are incredibly happy to make the final for such a prestigious challenge. When we launch Money Compare in June it will be a fantastic addition to the suite of NZ Compare comparison websites and we’re looking forward to helping Kiwis save on their Mortgages, Credit Cards, KiwiSaver and loads of other areas of personal finance. We’re proud that Paymark and the judges can see the potential in our latest offering and I’m looking forward to pitching at The Point 2018, which looks like an awesome conference."

The other four finalists for the Fintech Innovation Challenge are Aider, Banqer, Bosspac and Sharesies. These four finalists and Money Compare will present their cases to the conference on the afternoon of June 26 at the Cordis Hotel in Auckland.
