Plexure congratulated on Nasdaq Tower in Times Square

Mobile engagement software company Plexure has been publicly congratulated by American technology exchange, the Nasdaq, following reports of its maiden profit last week.

Plexure’s company logo featured prominently on the Nasdaq Tower with the words “Nasdaq congratulates Plexure on stellar results” on 2 November – in what is believed to be a first for an NZX listed company.

The well-known digital billboard, located in Times Square has nearly 350,000 pedestrians passing through it every day.

Plexure Chief Executive, Craig Herbison says the milestone stemmed from the annual Technology Investment Network (TIN) Awards last month, where Plexure was named a finalist in the Absolute IT Supreme Scale-Up List.

Nasdaq Head of Listings and Capital Markets for APAC, Rebecca Smith attended the TIN Awards and was the catalyst for Plexure’s New York City debut.

“Nasdaq is dedicated to supporting innovators and disruptors from around the globe, including Plexure and others based in New Zealand.

“The technology eco-system in the region is vibrant, from incubators such as Level Two and Icehouse to its angel investment network, while additional mid-stage funding is still required, as companies continue to grow and scale.

“Nasdaq is committed to New Zealand companies at all stages and we look forward to their continued success,” she says.

TIN Managing Director, Greg Shanahan also congratulated Plexure on its great results and nomination at the Awards.

"We’re delighted that the profile generated by Plexure’s inclusion as one of the leading scale-up companies in this year’s TIN Report led to its recent recognition by Nasdaq. We applaud Plexure for posting a maiden profit and look forward to charting its continued growth momentum," he says.

The banner placement in the US comes at a great time for Plexure as it looks to grow its presence in the country’s Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) industry - estimated to be USD$380 billion of spend today, of which it is predicted USD$38 billion will be spent via mobile devices by 2020. This complements successful existing international relationships Plexure enjoys with McDonalds, 7 Eleven and IKEA, coupled with the appointment of two new dedicated US sales staff.
