Pacific Island News Association Media Leaders Summit

PMN To Host Inaugural Pacific Island News Association (Pina) Media Leaders Summit

Pacific Media Network is pleased to host the inaugural PINA Media Leaders’ Summit next week in Auckland.

The inaugural Pacific Media CEO summit creates a Pacific media leadership space for smarter coordination, resourcing and media partnerships for engaged, informed Pacific communities.

The space focuses on decision makers across media, forum ministers, telco and ICT partners in the context of informed, empowered Pacific communities.

Key objectives will be:

• Increase awareness of New Zealand’s Pacific Reset approach among Pacific media leaders and their audiences

• Renewed engagement and networking between developing Pacific media and New Zealand-based Pasifika and mainstream media

• Strengthened and strategic partnerships shaping the digital future

Chairman for Pacific Media Network, Tiumalu Peter Fa’afiu says the Pacific region is undergoing significant changes which impacts on the 22 million peoples within it.

He says the media landscape in the region must report and adapt to those changes.

“All Pacific media have an opportunity to collaborate more in engaging with stakeholders, reporting on Pacific news through a Pacific lens, and strengthen our platforms whether it be radio, online, or print”, said Tiumalu Peter Fa’afiu.

The summit will be held at Jet Park convention center, Mangere, Auckland from February 12-13
