Entry is now open: Awards for Excellence 2019

Hospitality New Zealand’s annual Awards for Excellence celebrate the hard work and achievements of food and beverage and accommodation industry businesses across New Zealand

Entry to the Awards for Excellence 2019 opened today, Wednesday 15 May. Now in its 22nd year, Hospitality New Zealand hosts the Awards for Excellence annually to celebrate the successes and achievements of the hospitality industry across New Zealand. Each year, Hospitality New Zealand recognises businesses in the accommodation and food and beverage sectors for their hard work, and for their commitment to excellence in their field.

Entry can be made via our dedicated Awards website (awards.hospitality.org.nz) and will remain open until 28 June 2019. The Awards for Excellence 2019 will take place in Hawke’s Bay on 17 October 2019, during Hospitality New Zealand’s annual conference (October 15-17).

Commenting on the Awards, Hospitality New Zealand CEO Vicki Lee said: “The Awards for Excellence allow Hospitality New Zealand to recognise and reward our dedicated members who have strived throughout the year to create the highest possible standards and experiences for both their guests and their team. In categories such as Best Environmental/Sustainable Business or Excellence in Host Responsibility, we also honour members who have shown a commitment to looking after the communities in which they operate.”

Lee added: “The Awards for Excellence offer Hospitality New Zealand members an opportunity to reflect on the progress their business has made throughout the year, to celebrate their successes, to gain respect and recognition from their industry peers, to boost their profile as a market leader and to acknowledge and reward the hard work of their team members.”

In order to better reflect the growing New Zealand hospitality market, this year Hospitality New Zealand has introduced three new categories, with a total of 19 award categories to enter in the 2019 Awards. Due to New Zealand’s growing luxury market, this year we have introduced a new category for the Best Luxury Accommodation. To better reflect the diversity of our accommodation members, we have also opened up the Best Redeveloped Accommodation category in to two new categories, one for Best Redeveloped Motel and one for Best Redeveloped Hotel.

Entry to the Awards for Excellence 2019 is open to all Hospitality New Zealand members. Non-members who wish to get involved and enter the Awards still have time to join Hospitality New Zealand and enter the Awards, before the closing deadline for entry, which is Friday 28 June 2019.

Members can enter the Awards by completing a category entry form, which can be downloaded from our dedicated Awards website at awards.hospitality.org.nz. The self-nomination process is free and easy to complete. This year, the entry forms have been streamlined to make it easier and quicker for our busy members to complete. Our Awards website also features the full list of categories and information on how to enter the Awards.
