Federated Farmers Power Into Electricity Market

Rural electricity consumers are being given the opportunity to save money on their power bills following today's launch of The Power Club.
The Power Club is a joint initiative between Federated Farmers and Energy Group Limited that will offer rural consumers the opportunity to save money by collectively securing lower prices.
The Club will operate in a similar way to an insurance broker by placing its members business with the lowest cost energy supplier.
Federated Farmers Vice-President and energy spokesperson Tom Lambie said there is no doubt that The Power Club will become a major force in the industry as farmers join and access more favourable electricity supply arrangements.
"The Club will initially focus on lowering retail energy prices but intends to also target line company charges."
"As the Club develops, members will also be offered generic energy management advice to help further reduce their power bills."
"There is no similar independent organisation operating in the energy market and Federated Farmers is delighted to be providing leadership to the rural community in this critical area," concluded Mr Lambie.
