Peter Jackson Documentary Now Available On The Internet
A web site launched today allows Peter Jackson fans the chance to buy a documentary on the making of his first feature film “Bad Taste”. The documentary “Good Taste Made Bad Taste” shows the making of this splatter film as well as footage from Jackson’s early experimental films.
It is a unique insight into the early career of Peter Jackson, now in production of the trilogy “Lord of the Rings”.
This documentary was made in 1981 by notorious documentary maker and consultant writer on ”Bad Taste” Tony Hiles from City Associates Films. It was funded by the New Zealand Film Commission, and is the only independently available documentary on Jackson’s work to date.
The web site also represents a first - the first NZ film to be sold officially on the internet. The site was made by international award winning interactive media company Click Suite and is a great example of the initiative, creativity and technical solutions coming from Wellington - one of the most wired cities in the world.
Included on the site are images from the documentary, a free preview, and links to all the other sites that are favorites with his fan club. It also has a secure, transactional area through which copies of the documentary can be purchased.
