BREWNZ ANNOUNCES DATES OF EVENT 21st- 25th May 2002 – Wellington, NZ

WHY LION MUST FIGHT FOR MONTANA The bitter struggle for control of Montana is just warming up. Lion Nathan has been thoroughly outflanked by its arch-rival, Foster's Group, and cannot afford to lose its grip on New Zealand's largest wine company. The loss of control would be a psychological blow to Lion and a big setback to its diversification plans. It would also condemn the group to a permanent second position in the Australasian brewing stakes. http://www.brewing.co.nz/news/businessherald/20010609lion.htm

US COMPANY'S BID AGAINST RIVAL CZECH BEER FAILS A bid by the world's biggest brewer to prevent a Czech rival from trading under a similar name and using similar labelling in New Zealand has failed. http://www.stuff.co.nz/inl/index/0,1008,814842a1700,FF.html

NEW BREWERY OPENS IN VICTORIA Jamieson Brewery has just opened in Jamieson, Victoria, Australia. After importing a 1200ltr brewery from NZ in August 2000, we currently have two beers on tap - Jamieson Premium Ale & Jamieson Brown Ale. Recipies are being formulated for Stout & Ginger Beer. Jamieson Lakeside Hotel, Eildon Road Jamieson 3723 Ph. +61 3 5777-0515

BREW NZ APPOINTS DIRECTOR Food and beer expert Kerry Tyack has been appointed director of a new event celebrating beer in Wellington next year.
