Vodafone Warriors back to full strength

Auckland, New Zealand, July 17, 2001 – The Vodafone Warriors today named a full strength squad to take on the Newcastle Knights at Ericsson Stadium on Sunday.
Returning from niggling injuries suffered during last Friday’s international fixtures are Stacey Jones, Monty Betham and Iafeta Paleaaesina. Richard Villasanti returns from one week’s rest after suffering a minor leg complaint against the Parramatta Eels.

Daniel Anderson said the test match took a lot from his international players, however he is still very disappointed with the effort and result and against the Brisbane Broncos.

“I thought our players earned little or no respect from their performance against the Brisbane Broncos. They need to bounce back and prove themselves and show our supporters that they can play better football than what was displayed at Carrara Stadium”, said Anderson.

“In hindsight, I am glad I took the precaution to rest key players such as Stacey and Monty.”

Daniel Anderson has named the following team to take on the Newcastle Knights:

1. Ivan Cleary
2. Henry Faafili
3. Wairangi Koopu
4. Clinton Toopi
5. Francis Meli
6. Motu Tony
7. Stacey Jones (c)
8. Jerry SeuSeu
9. Monty Betham
10. Ali Lauitiiti
11. Logan Swann
12. Awen Guttenbeil
13. Kevin Campion (c)
14. Jason Death
15. Richard Villasanti
16. Iafeta Paleaaesina
17. David Myles

The Vodafone Warriors will take the Newcastle Knights, at Ericsson Stadium, Sunday July 22, 2.00pm local time.
