Team NZ And SAP At America's Cup

Team New Zealand And SAP Unfurl First Exclusive Branded Spinnakers At America's Cup Jubilee
America's Cup Is Latest Global Marketing Venue For World's Leading E-Business Solutions Provider

COWES, England ¾ Aug. 23, 2001 ¾ SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) and Team New Zealand, the America's Cup holders, are racing in their new corporate livery at the America's Cup Jubilee in Cowes, England, where the yachting community is celebrating 150 years of world-class racing. Recently ranked in the Top 50 Global Brands by BusinessWeek magazine, SAP is the leading provider of e-business software solutions.

As a member of Team New Zealand's Family of Five sponsors, the SAP logo is featured prominently on the team uniforms, main sail and hull. Most important, for the first time in Team New Zealand history, an exclusive sponsor's logo will be featured on the spinnakers. "All of us at Team New Zealand are thrilled to welcome SAP aboard our boats," said Ross Blackman, Team New Zealand chief executive. "For the first time, a single sponsor's branding appears on our spinnakers. These billowing sails, used on downwind legs, drive Team New Zealand to success in the same way that SAP solutions drive business success for so many companies around the world."

"SAP is proud to support Team New Zealand in its bid to win the 2003 America's Cup and thrilled to be the first and only company to have its brand displayed exclusively on the spinnakers of the team's racing vessels," said Marty Homlish, SAP executive vice president and global chief marketing officer. "Not only is the America's Cup one of the most anticipated sporting events in the world, it is also one of the most technology-dependent sports, providing an appropriate venue for exposing the SAP brand to wide audiences. The sport embodies the spirit of competition, with precision engineering, unparalled teamwork, speed and bottom-line results - the same winning spirit that SAP delivers to more than 15,000 companies in more than 120 countries across the globe."
