TVNZ Scoops Gold At International Promotions Awards

The 2002 PROMAX BDA Awards held in Los Angeles over the weekend saw TV ONE win two Gold awards and one Silver award, with TV2 receiving one Silver award for on-air promotional trailers. These international awards recognize the finest promotion, marketing and design work by radio and television broadcasters from around the world. This is the first time that TVNZ has won at these awards. TVNZ's winners are:

World Class Special Award - 'Something For Nothing'
GOLD
TV ONE Promotions - John Kelly for 'Eastenders'

Best Broadcast Television Promotion - Branding/Image
GOLD (TIE)
TV ONE - ONE News/Saatchi & Saatchi Auckland
ONE News 'Keeping Watch'

Best In-House Drama Programme Promotion
SILVER
TV2 Promotions - Russell Bartlett
'The Sopranos' - Phone Call

Best Broadcast Television Movie Promotion - 'Made For TV'
SILVER
TV ONE Promotions - Anthony Farac
'Trust' - Lexus Sunday Theatre

TVNZ CEO Ian Fraser is delighted by the wins: "These awards wins are recognition that our creative team is on a par with their peers from around the world by producing the best promotional material for our audience to enjoy. This is a well deserved win following an outstanding creative effort."
