All Christchurch City Council sports grounds closed

The Christchurch City Council has closed all its sports grounds today.

Council parks maintenance support officer Ian Jackson says if it carries on raining the Council will probably keep its grounds closed.

The Council looks after about 270 individual sports fields on about 85 parks.

For more information, people are asked to call their sports clubs or associations, which get regular updates from the Council about the state of grounds.
