New Zealand Geographic is back
Iconic magazine title New Zealand Geographic is to be published again following an agreement recently reached between ACP Media Ltd and Rural News Group.
In February this year, the company which previously published New Zealand Geographic under license from ACP Media Ltd – which owns the title – was placed in liquidation leading to a cessation in production of the magazine.
However, successful negotiations between ACP Media Ltd and Rural News Group – a long-standing publisher of several leading New Zealand farming and agricultural titles – means New Zealand Geographic will once again be available.
General manager David Anderson says Rural News Group is delighted to add New Zealand Geographic to its stable of publications.
“New Zealand Geographic is undoubtedly an iconic and highly regarded title and its future is now assured. Rural News Group is a well established and a progressive publishing company with all the necessary skills and experience to make a real success out of this magazine.”
Adam Fricker, Rural News Group managing editor, says the magazine’s previous editor and art director had both been retained to ensure the high quality and readability of New Zealand Geographic was not diminished in any way.
“We know content and quality are important to New Zealand Geographic’s readers and we intend to continue the very high standards that have been set in the past. We are committed to preserving New Zealand Geographic’s unique quality and style.”
Although not obliged to, Rural News Group has also undertaken to honour all paid up subscriptions to New Zealand Geographic. The magazine will also be available to non subscribers via bookstores, supermarkets and magazine outlets.
“All New Zealand Geographic subscribers will be contacted shortly to appraise them of these developments. We are grateful for the loyalty and support of readers and subscribers while we effectively relaunch the magazine,” Mr Anderson concluded.
