Sports Majors Return Live On Prime TV

Sports Majors Return Live Free-To-Air On Prime TV

Prime TV would like to clarify that its coverage of Wimbledon 2004, The Open Championship and The US PGA Golf will be screened live on Prime TV and not delayed coverage as mentioned in certain sectors of the media.

Prime TV’s first serving will be highlights of The French Open starting on Tuesday 25th May at 4.30pm. Often considered the most difficult surface to play on, The French Open’s clay courts often serve up some spectacular finals and this year will be no exception.

From clay courts to strawberries and cream, Prime TV’s next tennis outing takes us live to the grass courts of Wimbledon in June. From its inception in 1868 when a mere handful of spectators watched the first lawn tennis game to the present day where millions tune in daily, Wimbledon is ‘class on grass’ and it will be right here on Prime TV.

From July, New Zealanders will be able to follow the live progress of our leading golfer Michael Campbell and world number one Tiger Woods, as Prime TV delivers live free-to-air coverage of the 133rd Open Championship from Royal Troon, Scotland. Formerly known as The British Open and recognised as one of the sternest tests on the tour, winners here include such greats as Arnold Palmer and our very own Bob Charles.

Prime TV’s live coverage of world-class golf continues in August as we head to Whistling Straits, Wisconsin in the USA for The 86th US PGA Championship 2004. This most celebrated of events features the strongest, most competitive field in golf, representing more than 15 countries. Some of the world’s greatest golfers will compete for the coveted Wanamaker Trophy and the honor that goes along with it.

Top class sports action from The French Open, and live coverage of Wimbledon, The Open Championship and The US PGA Championship, all free-to-air, all and right here on Prime TV.
