Experience a night of rare and diverse talent from some of NZ's finest Producers and DJ, to celebrate the launch of the Escape from Chaos chill compilation at Galatos on Friday May 19th. With LIVE ambient from Terra Nine and EMU, chill & dub from DJ's Psychelfyn (TMet/Twisted), Gargoyle (Twisted), Da Norm (Giggle), plus breaks and liquid drum & bass from Romantech (DATA:BASS). Doors open 10 pm til 6 am, and cover charge is $10 or $20 including an Escape from Chaos CD.

On Escape from Chaos, Damiano Verna (Tempest Recordings) and Michael Westcot (Assemblage Records) have compiled a release featuring a mixture of established artists, new & upcoming outfits along with the mainstays of the label from all over the globe including the UK, France, Israel, Greece, Denmark, New Zealand and Australia. The soundscape varies from lush ambience to dub to downtempo breaks.

About the Live Acts:

New Zealand based Terra Nine, aka Michael Westcot, combines lush string sounds from his electric violin and viola with electronic processing and chilled beats. He has releases on ZYX, Green Ant, and Tempest Recordings and is well known throughout Australasia for his unique live performances., &


Electronica artist Darcy Gladwin features broad spectrum beats exploring various styles including synth rock, dub influenced breaks, drum & bass, electro and reggae in a unique and dynamic live show that features his second EP 'Companion' as well as selected tracks from his previous release, 'One'. Also featured is the new track Homeland, which is one of the many standout tracks on 'Escape from Chaos'.

About the DJs:

Ex-UK DJ/Producer and founder of TMet Recordings New Zealand's digital dance label, Chelfyn is one of New Zealand's premier psychedelic trance DJs. Chelfyn also heads up local VJ crew Mohawk Media and hosts the Friday Drive show on dance network Twisted Radio. / /

Gargoyle is one of the founders of the Twisted online dance community, and Station Manager of Twisted Radio, New Zealand's only non commercial dance radio network. Broadcasting on Auckland 107.7fm and Hamilton 107.5 fm.

With a background in the UK party scene Da Norm is now Auckland based, putting on Giggle events alongside live duo Xtensa. He produces his own music across a range of genres, and appears regularly on Twisted Radio.

A prolific DJ/Producer of melodic drum’n bass & downbeat. Romantech is also part of iconoclastic electro pop act 'Reality Compound'. As the guiding force behind the DATA:BASS Collective and the Mental Illness project, he has released 9 full length compilations and 3 solo albums of local drum n bass and electronica in less than three years.
