“It’s All Gone Pete Tong”

“It’s All Gone Pete Tong” sets up Cash for Crash Mats

You can still run away with the circus, and you can certainly do a crash course on acrobatics, but they want you to be safe at Wellington’s very own circus school, so the hats are out to bring in the dosh to buy safety mats.

It was the multi award winning Heavenly Burlesque down at the Paramount during the Fringe and now some of the same seasoned professionals are concocting another special evening for your pleasure.

Seeking $1200 to match grants from “Creative Communities Wellington” the Wellington Circus Trust (WCT) has booked the Paramount Cinema for Friday, 16 June.

It’s for live circus performance, a special showing of the rave film “It’s all gone Pete Tong” and a mash up party in the bar afterwards!

The film is a funny, touching story about a DJ who goes deaf, among other things, the Michael Dowse film is getting A-plus reviews with its Cockney rhyming slang for “it’s gone all wrong”.

New York Times writer Kevin Crust says “Dowse has the senses working overtime as he skilfully guides the film into sweet, inspired territory with an over-the-edge-and-back performance by Paul Kaye as Frankie.”

It won’t just be film hallucinations on the night, as stilters from “Circumbendibus”, Whitireia Students performing hip-hop and aerialists Tom Beauchamp, Dawn Strindberg slither and slide around ropes and trapeze on the edges of the theatre, with MC Mr Fungus adding drama to the mental and musical mayhem on the screen.

After the film party till late in the Paramount lounge bar with fantastic DJ’s playing through the Paramount’s new PA.
