Frontseat, 11.10pm this Sunday 19th November on TV ONE after “Gosford Park”

It’s Frontseat’s final episode for the year and it’s a corker! Oliver strolls amongst the sculptures and gardens at the Ellerslie International Flower Show in Manurewa with award-winning designer Xanthe White, while our director John Hagen strolls the streets of Paris with author Chad Taylor.

THE GREATEST LINE IN KIWI FILM:

What’s the line that’s on everybody’s lips? Who’s responsible for writing it? The Greatest Line in Kiwi Film is unveiled this week. It was a closely-fought race between Once Were Warriors, two Geoff Murphy films and two Peter Jackson films, and you, the public, have spoken.

SUMMER PREVIEW:

Oliver Driver and Josie McNaught hit the streets to find out what people are looking forward to in the way of live music over the coming summer. Josie’s on a bus with the NZ Symphony Orchestra, who get to tour with Burt Bacharach in January, and Oliver’s outside the St James on Queen Street talking to emo fans about Big Day Out headliners My Chemical Romance.

THE FRONT ROW: VIVE LA FRANCE

Opinionated comment from recognisable faces with plenty to say including Naked Samoan Mario Gaoa, artist Dick Frizzell, broadcaster Noelle McCarthy, actor Joel Tobeck.

This week: New Zealand’s prince of noir, author Chad Taylor, is in the libraries and jazz clubs of Paris for Les Belles Etrangeres. This is a major literary festival that’s chosen to focus on New Zealand literature this year. Imagine the Big Day Out, but with books, where the headline acts include Albert Wendt, Vincent O’Sullivan and Alan Duff. Plus, there’s the new Museé du quai Branly, and the All Blacks are there, too.

Nah, we don’t mean this Spring weather. “Overnight Downpour” is musician-broadcaster-poet Andrew Fagan’s newest poetry collection, and he takes the dinghy out for a few rounds of the harbour as he recites especially for Frontseat.
