The film was selected out of thousands of submissions from around the globe.

"SXSW is the perfect launch pad for Devil's world domination" said Headstrong Exec Producer Ant Timpson, "we showed the film to a legendary US distributor who said congratulations, you've made the first Red-State movie from New Zealand - so we're very happy to be present the world premiere in Austin, an oasis of intelligence hidden in Mr Bush's backyard".

Based on characters developed by Chris Stapp and Matt Heath over a decade of funny short films and network television shows , 'The Devil Dared Me To' tells the explosive life story of Randy Cambell, New Zealand's most dangerous stuntman. The film features a soundtrack crammed with songs from Deja Voodoo, the hugely successful Kiwi rock band fronted by Stapp and Heath.
