Evermore to launch New Zealand site

Evermore to launch New Zealand site

AUCKLAND - February 22, 2007 - MySpace.com, the world's premier internet lifestyle portal for communicating with friends and discovering culture, today announced the official launch of its New Zealand site ( www.myspace.com ).

In celebration of the site's localised launch, MySpace will host a Secret Show featuring Kiwi band Evermore in Auckland on Friday, February 23. The show is open to all MySpace users.

Users need to visit www.myspace.com/secretshowsnz to obtain specific information about the exact venue and time of this free gig.

MySpace Secret Shows give members the opportunity to join the profile in order to receive advance notice of free concerts hosted by the website. With the local launch of Secret Shows New Zealand ( www.myspace.com/secretshowsnz ), registered MySpace members have the opportunity to hear about upcoming shows happening in their area.

One of the world's most popular websites, MySpace.com boasts over 150 million users worldwide. Since the site's official launch in January 2004, music has been the cornerstone of MySpace's success with more than two million bands offering fans exclusive access to their profiles and music projects.

MySpace New Zealand will have a local focus, promoting Kiwi bands, gigs and other events, allowing users to reach a mass audience. MySpace will also bring some of the biggest international acts to the country with its Secret Shows and Black Carpet Screenings - special movie premieres.

"This is a significant coup for New Zealand bands and artists who are currently using their MySpace profiles to promote their bands and music - the local version will offer even more opportunity for them to be heard by a local and international audience," Fox Interactive Media general manager, Rebekah Horne, said.

To access MySpace New Zealand, Kiwis simply log on to the MySpace site www.myspace.com and a user identification system will automatically direct them to the new local homepage.
