NEW ZEALAND’S LARGEST FASHION AWARD CALLS FOR ENTRIES FOR 2007
Westfield Style Pasifika, New Zealand’s premiere fashion award, is calling for expressions of interest from designers from throughout the country for the 2007 Awards.
The Award encourages designers to create cutting edge fashion that is inspired by the country’s unique relationship with the vibrancy of the Pacific. It is anticipated there will be record number of entries this year, last year there were over 300, and that some explosive fashion talent will be revealed.
The final event over two nights celebrates all finalists in a spectacular show that combines the best in fashion, music, dance and culture - an exciting and potent celebration of New Zealand’s special place in the world.
The show is filmed for a TV One television special.
There are two parts to entering the Award. Expression of interest which is the first part of the entry process. This part of the entry form needs to be received by Friday July 13, 2007.
Finished garments are then due by Saturday August 4, 2007.
Entry forms are online at www.stylepasifika.co.nz, at Customer Service in all of the Westfield Shopping Centres in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington and Christchurch or at all fashion design schools throughout the country.
Westfield New Zealand, the country’s major
shopping centre owner has been sponsoring the Westfield
Style Pasifika Fashion Award and show for six years.
“It is a great opportunity for us to celebrate New Zealand’s remarkable pool of fashion talent, as fashion is so much a part of our business,” said Justin Lynch, Deputy Director, Westfield NZ.
The ten categories in the Westfield Style Pasifika Fashion Award are Pasifika Body Art; Traditionally Inspired; Asia Pasifika; Pasifika Hero; Three Piece Collection; Urban Street Wear; Menswear; Evening Wear; Bridal Wear and Parent and Child.
The Awards will be judged by key New Zealand fashion designers and influencers, and the TV One Supreme Award will be presented by the Prime Minister.
