NZ Secondary Schools Team set for Trans Tasman Tournament

The NZ Secondary Schools Netball Team goes into camp tomorrow before they compete in the Trans Tasman Netball Challenge which starts on Tuesday at Allan Brewster Stadium, Papatoetoe.

The competition is based in New Zealand and Australia on alternate years, with New Zealand winning the tournament the last three years.

NZ Secondary Schools Coach Kiri Wills (nee Adams) says that the NZ Secondary Schools team is keen to continue their winning record.

“The players know that representing New Zealand at this level is a great opportunity for them. They’re really excited about taking on the other teams, especially the Australian side.”

“We are expecting some great games, and this tournament is a chance for Netball fans to come and see the stars of the future,” Wills said.

The NZ Secondary Schools Team will face their Australian Counterparts (School Sport Australia), along with four other teams in the competition over three days.

Participating teams are:
NZ Secondary Schools
School Sport Australia
Aotearoa Secondary Schools
Pasifika
Indigenous Secondary Schools of Australia
Counties Manukau Invitation Team

The final will be played at 5:20pm on Thursday 31 May. Results will be available at www.netballnz.co.nz.
