Wahine – solo exhibition of photography by Chris Traill

Wahine is an exhibition by Papatoetoe photographer Chris Traill, from his Birds of Paradise series. Well known for his many years of documenting the ASB Bank Polyfest event, this is a rare chance to see Chris’ images in a solo show.

The photographs celebrate wahine (women), and in particular, Maori women, from many walks of life and across the generations. Chris portrays contrasts of mood, style and subject, ranging from sublime portraiture and powerful kapa haka performance to young wahine at play.
